01

Who we are

Dr Furella Aesthetics operates doctor-led clinics at 146 Pennant Street, Parramatta NSW 2151 and 15 Bourke Street, Maitland NSW 2320. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and the health records legislation that applies in New South Wales.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.

02

What we collect

Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and the suburb you live in.

Health information: the concern you want assessed, relevant medical history, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, prior treatments, and the clinical notes, photographs and consent forms created during your care.

Appointment and account information: bookings, attendance, correspondence with the clinic, and payment records held through our payment provider. We do not store your full card number.

Website and enquiry information: what you submit through a form on this site or through an enquiry form on Facebook or Instagram, along with standard analytics and advertising measurement data described below.

03

Why we collect it

To assess you safely and provide the care you have asked for. Health information tells the treating practitioner whether a treatment is appropriate for you, and some answers, such as pregnancy, recent laser treatment or isotretinoin use, directly change what can be offered.

To contact you about your enquiry, confirm and remind you about appointments, and follow up after treatment.

To meet our legal, professional and record-keeping obligations as registered health practitioners.

To send you clinic updates where you have asked to receive them. You can opt out at any time and we will act on it.

04

Enquiries made through Facebook or Instagram

If you complete an enquiry form inside Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes your answers to us so that the clinic can contact you. Meta also handles that information under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

We use those answers only to respond to your enquiry and to arrange care. We do not sell them, and we do not pass them to unrelated third parties for marketing.

05

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how pages are used, and measure whether our advertising is reaching the right people. This can include tools provided by Google and Meta.

Where advertising measurement involves your contact details, they are converted into a scrambled, unreadable form before being sent. You can limit or block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working properly.

06

Who we share it with

Practitioners and staff involved in your care at this clinic.

Your GP, specialist or another treating practitioner, where that is part of your care and you have agreed to it.

Service providers who help us operate, such as our booking, payment, email and IT providers. They are bound to protect your information and to use it only for the service they provide to us.

Anyone else where the law requires or permits it, or where there is a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information stays protected when that happens.

07

How we keep it secure and how long we keep it

Records are held in access-controlled systems, and paper records are stored securely on site. Access is limited to people who need it to do their job.

Health records are retained for the minimum periods required by law. In New South Wales that is generally seven years from your last visit, or until a patient who was a child turns twenty-five.

08

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@drfurellaaesthetics.com.au or calling 0432 122 959. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

We will respond within a reasonable period. In limited circumstances we may need to refuse access, and if that happens we will tell you why in writing.

09

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first at info@drfurellaaesthetics.com.au so we can try to resolve it.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or the NSW Information and Privacy Commission at ipc.nsw.gov.au.

You can also make a complaint about a registered health practitioner to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency at ahpra.gov.au, or to the Health Care Complaints Commission in New South Wales. Nothing in any document you sign with us prevents you from doing so.
